So this last month, has totally whizzed by for me! I have had some lovely encounters with lots of new, lovely people this month and I`ve really enjoyed myself, I must say. Who would have thought that the shy, unconfident women would enjoy jumping out of her comfort zone! It amazing what we can achieve when we put our minds to it….lots more leaping ahead for me, how about you?
At the end of 2018 I was very honoured to be asked, along with Francoise DeSmet, under our umbrella of ‘YOU' to donate to Breast Cancer Care UK. https://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/
They hold a lavish dinner and auction in London each year and thought our package of a Pamper and Portrait Party, would be an ideal prize. We were more than happy to oblige and give to such a wonderful cause and we donated two packages for them to auction off.
We were extremely over the moon to be told that they raised over £2000 on our gifts alone, it was a very humbling feeling for us both, to be able to help in this small way.
We are both very passionate about what we do and our parts in our parties, which are always fun and full of energy for all of those taking part, including us. For these two charity gifts, we were also fortunate to be joined by the very talented pair, Lucy Talbot and Nicole De Clerck, who provided the most luscious facials.
What was truly lovely, is that each party ended up being extremely different. Our first one, which was in Fullham for a young lady`s 15th birthday party, was full of teenage energy and lots of excitement. We enjoyed being around all of the young ladies and had fun listening to their stories about their young lives. We agreed that they were a very pleasant group of young women who made the day a lot of fun for us. The beautiful images from the day were just the icing on the cake. http://www.facebook.com/shutterhut
Our second party was in Ascot and even though there were a couple of younger ladies, the majority were the more mature lady, which I personally love working with. They loved the experience of being pampered with a facial and having their makeup applied professionally. However, of course when it can to the portrait session, I heard the usual complaints of ” I'm not photogenic” Yet 5 minutes into each session, they were all smiling and laughing and the resulting images speak for themselves. http://www.instagram.com/shutterhut
So as you can see, I have lots to be grateful for at the end of this first month of 2019….its been great, in so many ways and I know that its just going to get better as each month appears this year and I can't help smiling!!!
More parties, more portraits, more laughter, more friendships, more giving, more growing and more becoming me!!
As we go into February, the month of love, I send you a great big hug and remind you to give some love to someone who needs it this month. In giving, we forget our own woes and find ourselves.
